Use the calendar views, layers and overview
Switch between Month, Week, Day and Agenda, search and filter, show or hide calendars and layers, change your time zone, and subscribe in other apps.
Required permission: calendar.view
Before you begin
Reading needs calendar.view. Saving your view, your ticks, your time zone or your feed needs calendar.edit; with only the read right they are not saved.
Steps
Start from the overview
- Open Calendar > Overview. Tiles show Today, Awaiting your answer, Appointments today, Rooms in use now and Your busy hours this week (overlaps are merged).
- Under Invitations, press Accept, Maybe or Decline. The organiser gets a notification.
Move around the calendar
- Open Calendar > Calendar.
- Press Month, Week, Day or Agenda. Month shows six weeks with three chips per day and +N more. Week and Day show an hour grid with an all-day row and a now line. Agenda lists the next 30 days.
- Use the previous and next arrows and Today. Click a day number in Month to open that day in Day view.
- The last view you chose is remembered.
Find events
- Type in Search events. It matches title, location and the start of the notes. Other people's private events never match.
- Open Filters to choose a Kind, or untick Events I am invited to to hide events you attend that sit in calendars you do not read. Press Clear to reset.
Calendars and layers
- In the right rail under My Calendars, tick or untick calendars and the layers HR & Leave, Sales, Projects and Maintenance. Your choice is remembered.
- Click a layer item to see its card. Press Open to go to the record in its own module. You cannot change it here.
- Layers are hidden while you search or filter by kind.
Time zone and upcoming
- In the Time zone box press Change and choose your zone or the company zone. Every screen is then drawn in that zone.
- Upcoming shows the next three items. View all opens the overview.
- Open Calendar > Reminders to see reminders due in the next 14 days (Coming up) and the last 50 sent to you (Sent to you).
Subscribe in another app
- Open Calendar > Configuration > Subscribe in other apps and press Make my address. Copy the address into Outlook, Google Calendar or your phone.
- New address replaces it, and the old address stops working. Stop sharing switches the feed off.
What happens next
The feed is read-only. It carries your events and events you attend from 30 days back, with repeating events as one series. Cancelled and declined events are left out. Private events keep their title in your own feed, marked private.
Good to know
- What layers show depends on rights. Without
hr.employee.viewyou see only holidays and your own leave. Payroll dates needpayroll.view. The Projects and Maintenance layers are offered only if those modules are on and you can view them. - Example: an event at 09:00 to 10:00 in Asia/Dubai shows 06:00 to 07:00 in Europe/London while London is on summer time.
- Anyone with the feed address can read your calendar. Press New address if it leaks.
